About Me.
This site is designed to make accessible my program of research and to connect to clients who need support with research design and data analysis.

I have held a dual role of pursuing my own program of education research while supporting others in evaluation, research design and data analysis since the first year of my PhD studies at McGill in 2005. At the time, I was conducting applied research in high school classrooms focused on understanding ways students learn to ask questions and solve problems. The primary thing I learned from that research is that the social and emotional aspects of learning are fundamental to both science learning and adolescent well-being. In parallel to my graduate studies, I was a research assistant for a Health Canada funded project in McGill University's Faculty of Medicine to understand and promote evidence-based interprofessional education and practice (IPEP). Just to keep things exciting, I was also the laboratory instructor for my PhD program's advanced statistics course. I learned how to balance these roles (and how to do them) thanks to mentorship from Drs. Bruce Shore, Carl Fredrickson, Nancy Posel, David Fleiszer, Frank LaBanca and Robert Bracewell.

From these experiences that somehow are now 20 plus years old, I have continued to balance applied research, consulting for others and teaching statistics. I continue to love all three aspects of my career and prioritize mentorship roles. I am grateful that I get to do this work in my home province of Nova Scotia, where I am raising three children with my husband and our extended family.
